Productions

Currently HERAFILM SCIENCE MEDIA co-produces in collaboration with CZECH TELEVISION two weekly programmes:

  • DIAGNOZA (Diagnosis) - the multi award-winning series with stories of modern medicine - documentary films on diseases and their treatment in modern medicine (18 minutes)

    Although we often film very emotional situations and moments in some films of our series Diagnosis, we always avoid any voyeuristic tendencies in our approach towards patients and doctors. It is our imperative to respect rules of general and professional ethics.

  • POPULARIS - a popular science programme on contemporary Czech and world science and new technologies (28 minutes)

    Popularis means in Latin: understandable to people, pleasant and popular to people or enjoying their favour. This popular science programme tries to reach all this. It brings news on new technologies and methods, informs about the latest results of basic and applied research in the Czech Republic in particular, but also abroad.

HERAFILM SCIENCE MEDIA has produced hundreds of productions since its foundadtin in 1992. Some of the productions are mentioned as follows:

  • Teleskop (Telescope) - 185 × 10 min. - stories from the world of science and technology - broadcasted on Czech television from 1994 to 1998, the series has re-runs aired up to recent days.
  • Memu pocitaci s laskou (My computer with love) - 15 × 10 min. - celebrities portrait their attitude towards their own computer - documentary essays awarded on the international film festival Techfilm in 1993 - broadcasted on Czech Television in 1993.
  • Clovek a pocitace (Man and computer) - 24 × 15 min. - info magazine on IT - oriented on general audience - broadcasted on Czech Television in 1992.
  • Vednik - popular scientific magazine - 43 × 28 min. - between 1999 - 2001 produced by the company Veda, Vzdelani a Verejnost, s.r.o., in which Jaromir Herskovic was the head of executive, one of the founders and main authors.

Documentaries:

  • Zeny v armade (Women in Army) - collective portrait of six women soldiers serving in various Army of the world - Soviet Army, Chechnyan Army, USAF, Czech Army, Dutch Army
  • Modlitba, kniha a pisen (The Prayer, Book and Song) - awarded one-hour long narrative historical documentary about the history of the Jew community on the Czech territory - 1992
  • Exulant Jan Amos Komensky (Comenius in exile) - biographical one-hour long documentary dedicated to Comenius - co-produced with Dutch RNTV - 1992.
  • Jina priroda, jine svety, jine zivly (Different Nature, Different Worlds, Different Elements) - half-an-hour collective portrait of three Japanese renowned architects - 1993.
  • V Americe, tam je blaze (America, Perfect Bliss) - one-hour documentary on living in Texas, America - 1995.
  • Z (Zikanen) - documentary film on the destiny of Romanies in WW II - 1995
